When we talk about how low our beds go, quite often the first question we are asked, is 'Why?'
Falls risk has become a major issue in Aged Care facilities, since the reduction in the use of Safety rails.
Residents who fall out of bed could suffer significant injuries.
By reducing the height of the bed when it's in its lowest position, there is a reduced risk of injury, should the resident fall out.
Crash mats are also a popular to use with beds - a mattress on the floor, which also reduces the risk of injury.
